MESSAGE FROM THE PRESIDENT 2011
My beloved friends , members of the Catholic Nurses’ Guild Malaysia,
Greetings of Peace and Joy from the executive committee, I hope the groups have had a fruitful year, since the last time we got together.
Earlier this year, we lost a very prominent leader and pioneer in CNG and CICIAMS, Sir Richard Lai- may his soul rest in Peace. He is very well known nationally and internationally. He will be remembered as the heart and soul of CNG and CICIAMS where he remained actively involved till his passing. It is his dearest hope that the CNG continues to have great impact on the Catholic nurses of today.
This year, as was discussed in our executive committee meeting, we are directing our focus on the Youth and the Family and that we Catholic Nurses’ –"As Agents of Change”.
It was also in our Goals – that our focus be in the deepening of our Spirituality.
I am very much attracted by the famous words of Blessed mother Theresa, she says, "When you look at electrical appliances, you can see that they are made of big and small wires, cheap and expensive all lined up. Until the current runs through them there will be no light. Those wires are you and me and the current is GOD. We have the power to let the current pass through us, use us and produce the light of the world or we can refuse to be used and allow the darkness to spread”.
My dear friends we must realize how important it is to be open to God’s spirit. Let the current pass through us and let us be revitalized and be THE LIGHT in our places of work!
The host for this year’s AGM will be the CNG group, Kuching. A retreat will be conducted by our National Chaplain, Rev. Fr Aloysius Fidelis, the theme for our retreat is Responsible Holistic care – our Spirituality, this will be followed by a pilgrimage to mount Singhai. Please view the program that our host has lined up for us. Let us prayerfully prepare ourselves to open up our hearts to receive abundantly from this retreat and seminar.
Let us pray for continued blessing from the Lord for the Guild, we hope for a spirit filled year and the years to come
I look forward to meeting all of you in Kuching this July.
God Bless you.
Francisca,
President, Catholic Nurses’ Guild Malaysia
